Just return your used Pepsi containers at your local Return and Earn machine to take part. You can take part at Return and Earn machines, Return and Earn centres, and voucher-printing Return and Earn Depots across NSW. Plus, the Recycling Rethink      works for both app and regular return sessions. Please note that sessions at automated depots or over the counter return points are ineligible for the Recycling Rethink.

When returning, place your Pepsi product/s (plastic bottles, cans or glass bottles) into the machines. The machine technology will recognise the recycling of Pepsi products and print 1x Recycling Rethink voucher which has both a unique QR code and unique identifier code, in addition to the normal refund voucher for your session.

Then, simply scan the QR code. This will take you to a website where you can complete the entry form. The website will instantly tell you if you have earned an additional amount.

If you are identified as a winner on the website, you’ll need to fill in your contact details so we can be in touch and make a bank transfer up to the sum of your reward.

You’ll still receive the normal refund amount for each eligible container deposited, including for the Pepsi products that were in your session. Donation sessions will go straight to the charity of your choosing via the Return and Earn app, or to the major charity partner, so aren’t eligible to earn extra as part of the Recycling Rethink.

The machine will then automatically detect if a Pepsi container has been returned and, if it has, you’ll receive a unique Recycling Rethink voucher that will print out at the end of your session, in addition to the normal refund voucher.

Instantly. As soon as you scan the Recycling Rethink voucher and submit your entry, and as long as it’s before 22/11/25, you’ll find out if you’ve earned anything extra on top of your refund, or if you’ll need to try again tomorrow.

Additional earnings are allocated at random throughout the live period, and recyclers are notified as soon as they scan their unique QR code on their additional Recycling Rethink voucher and submit their entry.

Yep, you’ll still get the full refund for your session, including for any Pepsi containers included in that session.

Unfortunately not. If you choose to donate your refund during the session, you are not eligible for the Recycling Rethink.
